O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed in the nature of a Mandamus, seeking a direction against the respondents to disburse the leave encashment benefits to the petitioner which he is entitled for the periods of 08/2018 and 08/2019 with interest at the rate of 8% per annum from the said date of entitlement to till the date of actual disbursement. The petitioner had given a representation on 15.06.2024. 2.In the affidavit filed in support of the writ petition, it is stated that the petitioner joined the respondent Transport Corporation and retired from service upon attaining the age of superannuation on 31.05.2023. The petitioner was serving as Special Grade Driver. According to the petitioner, the terminal benefits were disbursed with a delay and he now seeks interest for the delayed period. 3.A direction is therefore issued to the respondents to examine the petitioner's Service Register and verify the date when the amount was disbursed. If it is found that the amount was disbursed with 2/4

delay, interest at the rate of 6% per annum shall be granted from the date of retirement until the actual date of disbursement. The entire exercise shall be completed within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4.With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
