Respondents in all the cases Writ Petitions filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of writ of mandamus directing the respondents to extend the benefit of the board proceedings vide (per)CMD/TANGEDCO Proceedings No.94 Secretariat Branch dated 19.05.2011 to the petitioners by upgrading the post of Assistant Executive Engineer / Mechanical as Executive Engineer / Mechanical (non-independent) with effect from 19.5.2011 with all consequential benefits on the basis of representations dated 16.09.2014, 16.6.2014, 1.8.2014, 26.6.2014, 22.8.2014, 21.8.2014, 1.9.2014, 18.8.2014, 21.7.2014 and 21.7.2014
respectively within the time stipulated by this Honourable Court. For Petitioner : Mr.S.N.Ravichandran (in all WPs) For Respondents : Mrs.R.Varalakshmi (in all WPs) COMMON ORDER Mrs.R.Varalakshmi takes notice for the respondents.
2. Taking into consideration the narrow prayer made during the hearing, the writ petitions are taken up for disposal at the admission stage.
3. The petitioners, who are now working as Executive Engineers, seek upgradation as Executive Engineer/Mechanical with effect from 19.5.2011 based on their respective representations. The Board had considered the representation of the Graduate Engineers, Mechanical discipline and issued B.P. TANGEDCO (per) CMD/TANGEDCO Proceedings No.94 Secretariat Branch dated 19.5.2011 upgrading the post of 48 Assistant Executive Engineers as Executive Engineers/Mechanical (non independent).
4. In the circumstances, the first respondent is directed to pass orders on the representations submitted by the respective petitioners in the light of B.P.(per) CMD/TANGEDCO Proceedings No.94 Secretariat Branch dated 19.5.2011 referred to above on merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. No costs. The writ petitions are disposed of accordingly. No costs.
