This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the respondent to expedite the investigation in Crime No.620 of 1998 on the file of the Inspector of Police, E-5 Pattinapakkam Police Station, Mylapore, Chennai and submit non-traceable certificate before the competent Court of jurisdiction within stipulated time as may be directed by this Court.

2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that though the respondent has registered a case in Crime No.620 of 2018 on 15.05.1998, no final report has been filed till date.

3. The respondent police is directed to comply with the guidelines issued by this Court in K.Sugumari vs. The Superintendent of Police, Virudhunagar District and others reported in 2018 (2) L.W. 636 and continue with the investigation effectively and file a final report as expeditiously as possible.

4. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
