This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to modify the conditions imposed on the petitioner in C.M.P.No.348 of 2025, dated 21.02.2025 on the file of the Additional District Judge / Presiding Officer, Special Court for Essential Commodities Act cases at Coimbatore.
2. Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials available on record.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that while granting bail, the Additional District Judge / Presiding Officer, Special Court for Essential Commodities Act cases at Coimbatore, imposed conditions on the petitioner that (1) he shall produce two sureties each for Rs.1,00,000 to the satisfaction of this Court and (4) the petitioner shall produce the vehicle before this Court on the first working day of every month without fail until further orders. He further submitted that
the petitioner was a daily wage worker and therefore, she is unable to provide the required sureties. Therefore, he prays for a modification of the condition.
4. Considering the submission made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, the condition in para 6(1) imposed on the petitioner in C.M.P.No.348 of 2025 dated 21.02.2025 is modified to the effect that the petitioner shall execute a bond for a sum of Rs.10,000/- along with two sureties, each for a like sum, before the satisfaction court. The other conditions remain unaltered.
5. With the above modification, this Criminal Original Petition is allowed.
