ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the respondent to register the First Information Report in pursuance to the Complaint dated 20.06.2015 made by the petitioner which has been received vide the Registered Post on 22.06.2015 by the respondent.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent.

3. It is the case of the petitioner that he lost his Passport on 01.06.2015 and that, he sent a complaint by post on 20.06.2015 to the respondent police. This petition has been filed for a direction to the respondent police to register a case on the complaint dated 20.06.2015 given by the petitioner.

4. In the considered opinion of this Court, no FIR can be lodged in cases relating to the loss of property, unless an offence has been committed in connection with that. Here, the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

petitioner is not even gone in person and given any complaint to the respondent police. Therefore, the petitioner is directed to go in person and give a fresh complaint to the respondent police and the respondent police shall receive the same and give CSR receipt for receiving the complaint, so that, the petitioner can workout his remedy with the passport authorities for getting a fresh passport.

In view of the above, the criminal original petition is closed.
