Respondents PRAYER:- Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent to consider the representation submitted by the petitioner dated 03.01.2014 and to grant retrospective promotion to the petitioner in the post of Executive Officer on par with juniors in all stages with consequential benefits including arrears of salary and other attendant benefits, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

The relief sought for in this writ petition is for a direction to consider the representation submitted by the writ petitioner on 03.01.2014 in respect of the grant of promotion on par with his juniors.

2.The learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner made a submission that the writ petitioner was initially appointed as Office Assistant in Town Panchayat in the year 1980 in Erode District. Subsequently, he was promoted to the post of Junior Assistant in the year 1985 and he had passed all the required https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

Departmental Test and eligible for promotion to the post of Executive Officer Grade-II. However, the respondents had denied the right of promotion to the writ petitioner and the juniors to the writ petitioner had been promoted. In this regard, the writ petitioner made a representation to the respondents on 03.01.2014 and the same is yet to be considered. 3.Thus, without going into the merits of the case, the first respondent is directed to consider the representation submitted by the writ petitioner on 03.01.2014 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The writ petitioner is directed to enclose a copy of the representation along with the order passed by this Court in this Writ Petition. 4.Accordingly, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. However, there is no order as to costs.
