ORDER

(The case has been heard through video conference) The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 20.04.2021 for an offence punishable under Section 392 IPC in Crime No.132 of 2021, seeks bail.

2.The case of the prosecution is that on 02.04.2021, the petitioner along with other accused came by a two-wheeler and snatched a mobile phone and cash of Rs.8,000/- from the defacto complainant and fled away from the scene of occurrence.

3.The learned counsel for the petitioner contended that the petitioner is innocent and is in judicial custody since 20.04.2021 and hence, seeks bail.

4.The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) on instructions would submit that the petitioner has been detained under Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1982 and that seven more cases of similar nature are pending against the petitioner.

5.Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and also the fact that the petitioner has already been detained under the Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1982, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage.
