ORDER
(The case has been heard through Video Conference) The petitioner, who was arrested on 17.04.2021 and remanded to judicial custody on 20.04.2021 for an offence punishable under Section 379 IPC in Crime No.150 of 2021 on the file of the respondent Police, seeks bail.
2.The case of the prosecution is that on 11.04.2021, at about 03.30 p.m., when the defacto complainant and his mother were travelling in a two-wheeler, the petitioner along with other accused waylaid them and snatched the bag of the defacto complainant's mother and fled away from the scene of occurrence. The bag contained a mobile phone and cash of Rs.3,000/-.

3.The learned counsel for the petitioner contended that the petitioner is innocent and is in judicial custody since 20.04.2021 and hence, seeks bail.
4.The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) on instructions would submit that the petitioner has been detained under Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1982 and that seven more cases of similar nature are pending against the petitioner.
5.Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and also the fact that the petitioner has already been detained under the Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1982, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage.
