Respondents Prayer:- Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to forthwith issue Community Certificate to the petitioners herein under the Category Schedule Tribe - Malayali, pursuant to the application filed by the petitioners before the 1st respondent on 06.01.2012 and to pass further orders as this Court may deem it fit and proper in the facts and circumstances of the case.

(Order of the Court was made by K.K.SASIDHARAN,J) By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal during the time of admission itself.

2. Heard Mr.T.T.Ravichandran, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners and Mrs.Sri Jayanthi, the learned Special Government Pleader, who takes notice on behalf of the respondents.

3. The minor petitioners' father submitted an application for issuance of Community Certificate to his two children, for the purpose of their education, on 06.01.2012. The 2nd respondent kept the application pending for years together. The petitioners have now come up with this Writ Petition, for a direction to the respondents to consider and dispose of the application, on merits and in accordance with law.

4. The 2nd respondent viz., the Revenue Divisional Officer, District Collectorate, Salem, is directed to consider and dispose of the application for Community Certificate, dated 06.01.2012, on merits and in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible, and in any case, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. The Writ Petition is disposed of with the above direction. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed. No costs.
