This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for the issue of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to issue an order for extension of service of the petitioner upto 31.05.2019 in accordance with law.

O R D E R

The writ petitioner submitted an application seeking extension of service till the end of the Academic year. The writ petitioner was allowed to retire from service on attaining the age of superannuation with effect from 31.05.2019. However, the request made by the petitioner was not granted.

2. The learned counsel for the writ petitioner states that the writ petitioner is eligible for extension of service as per the Government orders and his representation in this regard has not been considered properly.

3. The extension of service is to be granted strictly in accordance with the terms and conditions stipulated in the Government orders. Extension of service can never be claimed as a matter of right.

4. This being the factum, without going into the merits, the respondents are directed to consider the representation submitted by the writ petitioner on 14.03.2019 and pass order on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. The writ petitioner is directed to enclose a copy of the representation and all other relevant documents along with the order passed in the writ petition.

6. Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
