O R D E R

Petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 and 2 to consider his representation dated 27.08.2014.

2. The petitioner alleges that private respondents have been allotting contracts in favour of their close relatives and have committed several other illegalities.

From the counter affidavit filed by the private respondents, it is seen that the petitioner himself was a licensed contractor of the Panchayat and His license has lapsed long back and he has not renewed the contract. Further, the allegation that contract has been given to the relatives has been denied by stating that those contractors were licensed contractors since 2002 and whereas respondents 3 to 6 have been elected as counsellors only in 2011. Thus the allegations made by the petitioner as against the private respondents appears to be on business rivalry. In any event it is pointed out that the Competent Authority to look into the matter is only the Director, Directorate of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj. In the light of the above, the writ petition is closed leaving it open to the petitioner to approach the Competent Authority. No costs.
