ORDER
In respect of the dispute raised by the petitioner as against the respondentManagement for his non-employment, the Additional Labour Court, at Coimbatore had passed an award dated 05.08.2022 in I.D.O.P.No.5 of 2019, directing the respondent-Management to reinstate the petitioner-workman into service and to pay 50% backwages with continuity of service and all other attendant benefits. 2. Pending disposal of the above writ petition, the workman has filed the present miscellaneous petition claiming wages under Section 17B of the Industrial Dispute Act. His last drawn wages as stated in the affidavit filed in support of this petition, is Rs.19,735/- per month. It is the statutory amount to be paid by the employer.
3. Heard both sides. Considering the fact that the benefit of Section 17B is available to the employee/workman, the Management is directed to pay the 17B wages (last drawn wages) from the date of filing of the writ petition, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, and for the subsequent period, the 17B wages shall be paid on the 10th day of each succeeding month, till the disposal of the writ petition.
4. The petition is ordered accordingly.
