Respondents Prayer: Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a writ of mandamus, directing the third respondent to dispose of the application dated 17.12.2013 given by the petitioner to the third respondent for taking steps to give water and sewerage connection to the petitioner's residence within a stipulated time that may be fixed by this Court.

2. This writ petition has been filed praying that this Court may be pleased to issue a WRIT OF MANDAMUS, directing the third respondent to dispose of the application made by the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
petitioner, dated 17.12.2013, for taking steps to effect water and sewerage connection to the petitioner's residence, within a time limit, as may be stipulated by this Court.
3. At this stage of the hearing of the writ petition, the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondent-Board had submitted that the application of the petitioner, dated 17.12.2013, had already been disposed of. He had also placed a copy of the communication issued by the Area Engineer of the respondent-Board, dated 19.01.2015, stating that the petitioner ought to settle the matter relating to the partition of the property in question, which is said to be pending on the file of the appropriate Court and to produce the necessary documents thereon, including the Assessment order issued by the Corporation of Chennai and the ownership of the building in question, for availing of the new connection, under the Below Poverty Line category.
4. In such circumstances, this Court is of the view that the writ petition has become infructuous and accordingly, it is dismissed as infructuous. No costs.
