Respondent Writ Petition has been filed, praying for issuance of a writ of mandamus, directing the respondent to dispose of the Revision Petition in R.P.No.3 of 2000 pending on the file of the first respondent within a time frame to be fixed by this Court. By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal.

2. The petitioner would state that she approached the Settlement Officer, Puducherry, to correct the entries in patta and revenue records, which stand in the name of one Kuppammal, wife of Munusamy, with regard to her properties, and, by an order, dated 06.08.1996, the Settlement Officer rejected the claim of the legal heirs of the said Kuppamal viz., G.Kamalakannan and G.Balakrishnan and held that they do not have any right over the property. The Settlement Officer came to the conclusion that the petitioner was not the legal heir of one Rajagopal Chettiar and directed to enter the name of one V.Radhakrishnan, who is the brother of her husband, in the revenue records. Aggrieved over the order passed by the Settlement Officer, the petitioner preferred an appeal before the appropriate authority and it was disposed of on 28.03.2000 and further aggrieved over the said order, the petitioner filed Revision Petition No.3 of 2000 before the respondent and the same is pending. disposal has been given to the revision petition filed by her, she has come forward to file this Writ Petition.

3. Heard the submissions of Mr.J.Sreedhar, learned Government Advocate, Puducherry, who accepted notice on behalf of the respondent.

4. This Court, without going into the merits of the claim projected by the petitioner, directs the respondent to consider and dispose of R.P.No.3 of 2000 filed by the petitioner in accordance with law, after putting on notice the persons concerned, and pass orders within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken to the petitioner as well as to the persons concerned.
