O R D E R

This Criminal Revision Case is filed against the Judgment of the learned Principal District and Sessions Judge, Kancheepuram at Chengalpattu in

C.A.No.79 of 2019 dated 15.06.2023. By the said Judgment, the Appellate Court confirmed the conviction and sentence imposed by the learned Judicial Magistrate, Madurantakam, in C.C.No.154 of 2017 dated 30.08.2019. The Trial Court found the petitioner guilty of an offence under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 and sentenced to undergo two years simple imprisonment and payment of two times of the Cheque amount viz., Rs.9 Lakhs as compensation and also to pay a sum of Rs.10,000/-; in default to undergo six months simple imprisonment.

2. When the matter came up for hearing, the complainant / respondent is present before this Court. The complainant submits that he has received a sum of Rs.4,50,000/- as full quit and the parties have compounded the issue. In support of his submission, an affidavit dated 11.08.2025 has been submitted before this Court.

3. In view thereof, this Criminal Revision Case stands allowed on the following terms, (i) The conviction and sentence imposed on the petitioner vide the

Judgment of the learned Judicial Magistrate, Madurantakam, in C.C.No.154 of 2017 dated 30.08.2019 as confirmed by the learned Principal District and Sessions Judge, Kancheepuram at Chengalpattu in C.A.No.79 of 2019 dated 15.06.2023, shall stand set aside;

(ii) The offense is treated as compounded;

(iii) The affidavit dated 11.08.2025 executed by the complainant shall form part of the record.
