PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India, praying for the issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the Respondents 1 & 2 to consider the representation dated 14.02.2026 made by the petitioner herein to direct the respondents 1 & 2 police officials to provide adequate police protection to the petitioner's petrol bunk namely Om Kali Agencies at Kaveripuram, Mettur Taluk, Salem District.

ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the Respondents 1 & 2 to consider the representation dated 14.02.2026 submitted by the petitioner and consequently direct the respondents 1 & 2, namely the police officials, to provide adequate police protection to the petitioner's petrol bunk, namely Om Kali Agencies, situated at Kaveripuram, Mettur Taluk, Salem District.

2. The learned counsel appearing for the respondents 4 and 5 submitted that they had invested a substantial amount with the petitioner for sharing the profits in the petrol bunk business. However, such an arrangement is stated to be in violation of the applicable Petroleum Rules. Owing to the said violation, the outlet dealership was temporarily suspended by the concerned

Petroleum Corporation, and thereafter, permission was granted to the sixth respondent to operate the petrol bunk.

3. Insofar as the sixth respondent is concerned, it is submitted that the sixth respondent is operating the petrol bunk smoothly without any obstruction from Respondents 3 to 5 herein. It is further submitted that the petitioner is no longer an authorised retail outlet dealer and is not presently operating the retail outlet in the name and style of Om Kali Agencies. Since the operation of the outlet by the petitioner has been temporarily suspended and the sixth respondent has been permitted to run the petrol bunk, the petitioner cannot seek police protection in respect of the said outlet.

4. In view of the above facts and circumstances, this Court is not inclined to grant the relief sought for in this writ petition. Accordingly, this Writ Petition (Criminal) stands dismissed. No costs. 05-06-2026 Index: Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order av
