Respondents Prayer:- Writ Petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 26.06.2015 by issuing a patta to the petitioner living at Angammal Colony, Kaveri Nagar, Salem -9, Salem District. Petitioner : Mr.R.Sankarasubbu For Respondents : Mr.V.Subbiah Special Government Pleader

By consent, the writ petition is take up for final disposal.

2. The petitioner would state that his family and 22 other families are all residents of Angammal Colony, Salem Town and that they are all living in the said locality for more than 50 years. It is further stated by the petitioner that some political bigwigs tried to vacate them and they filed writ petition in W.P.No.15156 of 2008 before this Court and in pursuance of the orders passed by this Court, possession has been restored. Thereafter, the petitioner applied for basic amenities such as electricity service connection and water supply connection as well as issuance of patta. In this regard, he submitted a representation to the Hon'ble Chief Minister Grievance Cell on 05.02.2014 and another representation dated 26.06.2015 to the respondents and since no order has been passed, came forward to file this writ petition.

3. Heard the submissions of Mr.R.Sankarasubbu, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.V.Subbiah, learned Special Government Pleader accepts notice for the respondents.

4. This Court taking into consideration the limited scope of the prayer made in this writ petition, without going into the merits of the case, directs the second respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's application / representation for patta dated 26.06.2015, in accordance with law and pass orders within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
