Respondents Prayer:- Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of mandamus directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 07.01.2017 and transfer him to any one of the place in Coimbatore or Tiruppur District under medical grounds during May 2017.

By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal. Mr.K.Dhananjayan, learned Special Government Pleader accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.

The petitioner was initially appointed as Typist on compassionate ground on 02.07.1993 and got his promotion as Assistant in the year 2003 and further promotion as Superintendent in the year 2014 and posted in the Pension Section at Headquarters. Thereafter, he was transferred to the District Police Office at Nagapattinam on administrative grounds vide proceedings of the 1st respondent dated 18.10.2016.

According to the petitioner, his mother, who is aged about 70 years is suffering due to Carcinoma Left Breast and she is

taking treatment at Dr.Rai Memorial Medical Centre, Chennai600018 and except him, nobody is there to attend her. The petitioner has also submitted representations dated 23.10.2016 and 07.01.2017 respectively to the 2nd respondent, praying for his transfer to Chennai on the ground of his mother undergoing cancer treatment and that his daughters are studying BBA [2nd year] and Higher Secondary Course respectively and except him, nobody is there to take care of them.

However, the representations are yet to be given disposal and therefore, he came forward to file the present writ petition. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.K.Dhananjayan, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

Though the petitioner has prayed for a larger relief, this Court, in the light of the above facts and circumstances and without going into the merits of the representations submitted by the petitioner, directs the 2nd respondent to consider and dispose of the representations' of the petitioner dated 23.10.2016 and 07.01.2017 respectively on merits and in accordance with law and pass orders within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner. The writ petition stands disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
