Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for the issuance of writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent to pass appropriate orders in the appeal petition submitted by the petitioner dated 04.09.2014 for cancellation of punishment of censure issued by the 2nd respondent in Na.Ka.No.1475/2013/Aapaa dated 11.06.2014 and consequently direct the respondents to promote the petitioner to the post of Cooperative Sub Registrar based on the petitioner seniority on par with juniors with consequential and other attendant benefits including arrears of salary.

Mr.D.Venkatachalam, learned Government Advocate takes notice for the respondents.

2. The petitioner was imposed with the punishment of 'Censure' by the second respondent vide proceedings in Na.Ka.No.1475/2013/Aapaa dated 11.06.2014. The petitioner preferred appeal against the said order to the first respondent on 04.09.2014. Since no order is passed, the petitioner has come up with the present writ petition.

3. When the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner would be satisfied if a direction is issued to the first respondent to dispose of the appeal dated 04.09.2014, within a stipulated period. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

4. In view of the limited prayer now made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, without going into the merits of the appeal dated 04.09.2014, the first respondent is directed to consider and dispose of the appeal filed by the petitioner, dated 04.09.2014 on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
