ORDER
(The case has been heard through Video Conference) The petitioner, who was arrested on 13.04.2021 and remanded to judicial custody for the offences punishable under Sections 341, 294(b) and 398 of I.P.C. in Crime No.257 of 2021 on the file of the respondent Police, seeks bail.
2.The case of the prosecution is that one Mr.Poovaragavan, while he was on the way to see his relative on 13.04.2021 in a Bi-cycle, the petitioner herein along with yet another accused way laid and abused him in filthy language and at knife point they attempted to commit robbery. On seeing the public movement, the defacto complainant escaped with his bi-cycle.
3.The learned counsel for the petitioner contended that the petitioner is an innocent person and he has committed any offence as alleged by the prosecution. The petitioner is in Judicial Custody from 13.04.2021 and hence, seeks bail.

4.The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) on instructions would submit that the petitioner along with other accused waylaid and the defacto complainant abused him in filthy language and at knife point they attempted to commit robbery. He would further submit that the petitioner is a habitual offender and several cases are pending against him. Hence, prays for dismissal of the petition. 5.Considering the fact that the petitioner is a habitual offender and several cases are pending against him in similar nature, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, the petition stands dismissed.
