This writ petition has been filed seeking a mandamus, forbearing the respondents 1 and 2 from promoting the respondents 3 to 5 as Divisional Engineer (Electrical) without considering the name of the petitioner.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner, the learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents 1 and 2 and perused the materials available on record.

3. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 and 2 would submit that the connected writ appeals in W.A.Nos.255 and 651 of 2005 were allowed by this Court on 28.09.2007 itself. He has further submitted that the petitioner also died on 03.05.2017 and hence, nothing survives for adjudication in this writ petition.

4. Recording the submission made by the learned Special Government Pleader, this writ petition is dismissed as having become infructuous. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
