ORDER

The relief sought for in the present writ petition is to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's claim of compassionate appointment by appointing him in the place of his father Late S.Rajendran, who died in harness on 12-6-2016, by considering his representations dated 04-08-2016 and 13-2-2019.

2.The petitioner states that his father was working as a Watchman in the Tamil Nadu Khadi and Village Industries Board and died on 12.06.2016, while he was in service. The petitioner submitted an application seeking appointment on compassionate ground through his mother. However, the said application was not considered and thus, the petitioner is constrained to move the present writ petition.

3.The learned counsel appearing on behalf of the 2nd respondent Government furnished a copy of the Government Order in G.O.Ms.No.154, Handlooms, Handicrafts, Textiles and Khadi Department, dated 21.11.2009, stating that there is a total ban for appointment in Khadi and Village Industries Board. It is contended that the Government imposed ban on account of various reasons and therefore, appointment cannot be made in the Khadi and Village Industries Board.

4.The learned counsel appearing on behalf of the 1st respondent made a submission that the Board has sent a letter to the Government for relaxation of ban and the said letter is under consideration. However, the facts remains that the ban remains as of now for appointment in Khadi and Village Industries Board. Therefore, there is no scope for considering the case of the writ petitioner for compassionate appointment. 3/4
