No.12059 of 2021 Common Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to enforce the lease order in Na.Ka.1/146/2020 dated 04.11.2020 and Na.Ka.No.8/8888/2020 dated 01.07.2020 to providing some waiver in the lease amount for the present COVID lockdown period and to provide installment payment option for the period 2021-2023 based on the petitioner's representation dated 17.05.2021 within a stipulated period in accordance with law.

C O M M O N O R D E R The petitioner in both writ petitions is one and the same and is a successful bidder for the lease of a cycle stand and for a shop on the banks of the Anandha River (river-side road), both for the period 2020-21. A part of the lease rents are stated to have been paid by the petitioner. On account of the on-going pandemic from March 2020, the petitioner has made a representation to the respondents to provide an option for payment of the balance lease rent in installments. The representation is dated 17.05.2021 in both writ petitions.
2. Mr.S.Sathish, learned Standing Counsel accepts notice for the Corporation Commissioner and Assistant Commissioner and states that R2 will dispose the representations dated 17.05.2021, within a period of six weeks from today.
3. Thus, the mandamus sought for stand achieved and a direction is issued to R2 to consider the representations dated 17.05.2021, hear the petitioner virtually or by way of physical hearing as may be mutually convenient to the parties and in line with the SOPs prevalent and pass orders in accordance with law within a period of six (6) weeks from today.
4. These writ petitions are disposed in the above terms. No costs.
