This Writ Petition has been filed in the nature of a Mandamus, seeking a direction against the respondents to settle the amount towards the encashment of earned leaves, surrendered by the petitioners along with 12% interest per annum. 2.In the affidavit filed in support of the writ petition, it is stated that the petitioners were appointed in the respondent Transport Corporation and after completion of 30 years of service, retired from service upon attaining the age of superannuation on 31.03.2019, 31.07.2018, 31.05.2017, 31.10.2014 and 31.03.2014. According to the petitioner, they were entitled to encashment of earned leave with interest. 3.A direction is therefore issued to the respondents to examine the Service Register of each one of the petitioners and examine whether encashment of earned leave surrendered by the petitioners had been paid to them and if not paid, pay the same within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, with interest at the rate of 6% per annum, from the date of retirement until the actual date of 2/4

disbursement. The entire exercise shall be completed within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 4.With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
