By consent of learned counsel on both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. 1/4

The present writ petition is filed praying for a writ of mandamus to direct the 1st respondent to survey land and consequently issue patta along with map for the property comprised in Survey Nos.47/1 and 47/3 A of Sellappampatti village, Sankagiri Taluk, Salem District, by considering petitioner's representation dated 10.3.2025.
3. The petitioner claims to be the owner of the property situated in Survey Nos.47/1 and 47/3 A of Sellappampatti village, Sankagiri Taluk, Salem District. It is submitted that the petitioner made an application for sub-division of patta before the 1st respondent on 10.03.2025. It is further submitted that petitioner has also taken out an online application for surveying the above land as early as on 20.01.2025 and paid appropriate fees, however, the same has not been considered by the respondent. Aggrieved, the petitioner has approached this Court by way of this writ petition.

At the outset, it is submitted by Mr.P.Sathish, learned Additional Government Pleader for respondent that survey would be carried out within a period of 8 weeks and the representation of the petitioner for sub-division of patta would be considered after putting the petitioner and other adjacent land 2/4
owners / interested parties on notice within the time frame to be fixed by this Court.

In view thereof, the writ petition stands disposed of with the direction to the respondent to carry out survey within a period of 8 weeks and consider the representation of the petitioner for sub-division of patta after putting the petitioner and other adjacent land owners /interested parties including rival claimants, if any, on notice within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any views with regard to the merits of the case and it is open to the respondent to consider the matter on its own merits and in accordance with law.
