Respondents Petitions filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issue of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the 1st respondent to probe all aspects of illegal mining of Bauxite Ore by the 4th respondent over an extent of 471.57 acres in Puliyur, Semmanduvu and Manjakuttai villages of Yercaud Taluk, in Shevaroy hill range of Yercaud, by a team of expert committee comprising of Geologists, Botanists, Environmentalists, prominent Social activist etc., and to file its report within a time-frame in order to protect the nature and beauty of Shevaroy hill range of Yercaud.

O R D E R

(The Order of the Court was made by The Hon'ble The Chief Justice) Learned counsel for the 4th respondent states that there has been closure of the Mining from 2008 and there can be no question of illegal mining of Bauxite Ore as alleged by the petitioner.

2. In view of the allegation to the contrary in the petition, the second respondent/District Collector to cause an inspection to be made to confirm that there is no illegal Mining going on. This exercise be undertaken within one month from the date of receipt of the order.
