Respondents PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for the issue of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1st Respondent to change the date of joining of the petitioners as Makkal Nala Paniyalargal as 20.07.1990 in the seniority list and place the petitioners in the proper place by revising the seniority list already drawn up by the 1st respondent and consider the petitioners for promotion to the post of Office Assistants or other equivalent posts in the Cuddalore District Rural Development office based on the revised seniority list in accordance with law.

There is a short fall of one day in respect of joining of the writ petitioners in duty.

2. The learned Government advocate appearing for the respondents now brought to the notice of this Court that the writ petitioners' date of joining was entered as 21.07.1990 as per the records available on file.

However, the writ petitioners have not produced any incriminating evidence to show https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

that they have joined duty on 20.07.1990. In the absence of any such evidence, this Court is not inclined to consider the claim of the date of joining of the petitioners.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioners relying on the order of appointment states that the same was issued on 20.07.1990. The order of appointment is unconnected with the date of joining duty as per the respondents and as per the records available in the office of the respondents, the writ petitioners have joined duty on 21.07.1990 and therefore, no further adjudication is required in this writ petition.

4. Accordingly, the Writ Petition stands dismissed. However there is no order as to costs.
