ORDER

The petitioner has been working as a Garden Watcher at Penstock Guest House, Onigandi, Keelgundha, Gundha Taluk, The Nilgiris District for the past 32 years. He joined the service of the respondent department on 01.02.1983. He made a representation on 31.01.2015 requesting the 3rd respondent to promote him as Rest House Watcher and the 3rd respondent, in turn, made a recommendation by his proceeding dated 02.02.2015 to the 2nd respondent for promoting the petitioner as Rest House Watcher. But, there was no reply from the respondents 1 and 2. Hence, the petitioner is now before this court with this writ petition seeking appropriate relief.

2. I have heard Mr.R.Ramasamy, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.N.Inbanathan, the learned Government Advocate, who takes notice for the respondents, and also perused the records carefully.

3. Considering the limited scope of the prayer and taking into account of the facts and circumstances of the case, without going into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, this court directs the 2nd respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 31.01.2015 for promotion in the light of the recommendations made by the 3rd respondent referred to above on merits and in accordance with law within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. This writ petition is, accordingly, disposed of. No costs.
