ORDER

This criminal original petition has been filed to direct the respondents to not to harass the petitioner under the guise of enquiry and follow the due process of law.

2.The case of the petitioner is that he is running a street food stall named Selvi Tiffin Centre, in Villivakkam Chennai. Though the petitioner has no pending criminal cases and has been acquitted from all the previous cases. The Respondent police is harassing the petitioner regularly by visiting his house at frequent intervals and threatening him to execute a bond under Section 129 of BNSS. Hence, the present petition.

3.When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the petitioner is a history sheeter in H.S.No.22 of 2025 and he is having four previous cases. 4.Since the petitioner is a history sheeter, he had been called to execute a bond and further, it is also seen that now, General Elections are around the corner and calling the petitioner for executing a bond cannot be termed as harassment.
