ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to pay compensation to the petitioner's land which were acquired for the public purpose.

The grievance of the petitioner is that his plotted lands comprised in in Vikrama Rajasingapuram-Part II Layout in Village No.136, Vaipur B Block, Eraiyur Village in Sriperumbudur Taluk, Kancheepuram District, bearing (1) House Plot No.48 in Old Survey No.246/14 and New Survey No.246/10A1 measuring an extent of 1997 square feet, (2) House Plot No.49, in Old Survey No.246/14 and New Survey No.246/10A1 measuring an extent of 2040 square feet and (3) House Plot No.52 in Old Survey Nos.246/12 and 246/14 and New Survey No.246/10A1 measuring an extent of 2655 square feet, in all measuring a total extent of 6692 square feet of land were acquired for the public purpose in the year 2014. But, so far no award has been passed and no compensation has been paid to the petitioner despite several representations in this regard.

3. Today, when the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Government Pleader, on instructions, submitted that interim award was passed as early as in the year 2014. The respondents were on the process of collecting necessary data for the purpose of passing final award and now, the respondents have got all necessary inputs and based on the same the 1st respondent will pass appropriate award. The learned Additional Government Pleader further submitted that the 1st respondent requires three months time to pass appropriate award in the matter.

4. Recording the above submission made by the learned Government Advocate, the present writ petition is disposed of and the 1st respondent is directed to pass appropriate final award within a period of three months after conducting appropriate award enquiry and giving sufficient opportunity to the petitioner. No costs.
