Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for the issuance of writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 10.08.2013 made to the respondent with a request to grant additional increment benefit to the petitioner.

O R D E R

The petitioner served as Village Administrative Officer and on attaining the age of superannuation retired from service on 30.04.2014. The petitioner was not given additional increment at the rate of 3% of the Basic Pay including Grade Pay as contemplated under Government Order in G.O.Ms.No.237 Finance (Pay Cell) Department, dated 22.07.2013. The petitioner therefore submitted a representation on 10.08.2013 requesting the respondents to extend the benefits of the above referred Government Order. Since there was no follow up action taken by the respondent, the petitioner was constrained to file this writ petition.

2. The respondent is directed to consider and dispose of the representation submitted by the petitioner on 10.08.2013 on merits and as per law and more particularly in the light of the Government Order in G.O.Ms.No.237 Finance (Pay Cell) Department, dated 22.07.2013. Such exercise shall be completed within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

3. The petitioner is directed to forward a copy of the representation dated 10.08.2013 along with a copy of this order so as enable the respondent to consider the matter as expeditiously as possible.

4. The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
