Mr.S.N.Parthasarathi, learned Government Advocate, takes notice for the respondents and by consent, the main writ petition is taken up for disposal at the admission stage itself.
2. The petitioner has filed the above Writ Petition to issue a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to dispose of
his representation dated 19.12.2016 and subsequent reminders and last reminder dated 27.02.2017 and further to direct the respondents to grant patta in his favour, for his property situated at Jawaharlal Nehru Salai, Koyambedu, Egmore - Nungambakkam Taluk, within the limits of Corporation of Chennai, bearing Plot No.12, comprised in *S.NO.19/2A , New S.No.19/11, measuring an extent of 2720 sq.feet together with 600 sq.ft Common Passage.
3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that inspite of the representation being given as early as on 19.12.2016 for the issuance of patta, the 3rd respondent has not passed any order so far. Further, the learned counsel submitted that the petitioner has also given a reminder on 27.02.2017 in this regard, which has also not been considered by the 3rd respondent.
4. Mr.S.N.Parthasarathi, learned Government Advocate, appearing for the respondents submitted that the 3rd respondent may be directed to consider the petitioner's representations and pass orders in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks' time.
5. Having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, without expressing any opinion with regard to the merits of the case, I direct the 3rd respondent to consider the petitioner's representations dated 19.12.2016 dated 27.02.2017 and pass orders in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after giving notice to all the interested parties, With this observation, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
