Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to pass order on the petitioner's appeal dated 12.08.2017 pending before the respondent herein with the limited time frame.

Heard Ms.T.Dharani, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.M.Santhana Raman, learned Additional Government Pleader (Forest) for the respondent.

2.The relief sought for in this writ petition is for a direction to direct the respondent to consider the appeal submitted by the writ petitioner on 12.08.2017 and pass orders. 3.The learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner states that the writ petitioner joined as Forest Watcher and thereafter promoted to the level of Forest Guard. However, on account of certain allegations disciplinary proceedings were initiated against the writ petitioner under Rule 17(b) of the Tamil Nadu Civil Services (Discipline and Appeal) Rules and after conducting the domestic enquiry, an order of punishment was imposed against the writ petitioner in proceedings dated 19.06.2017. Challenging the said order of punishment, he preferred an appeal before the Principal Secretary to https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

Government, Environment and Forest Department, Secretariat, Chennai - 9 on 12.08.2017. However, the same is yet to be considered.

4.Without going into the merits of the case, the Principal Secretary to Government, Environment and Forest Department is directed to consider the appeal submitted by the writ petitioner on 12.08.2017 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of. However, there is no order as to costs.
