This petition has been filed to direct the respondent police to give protection to the petitioner for conducting the Krishna Jayanthi Temple festival on 05.09.2015 as the trustee of the A/m Mariamman and Vinayagar Temple, Machampalayam.
2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner; learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the respondent and perused the materials placed on record.
3. It is seen that the Temple in question is administered by the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowment [HR & CE] Department.
4. It is the case of the petitioner that a rival group wants to celebrate Krishna Jayanthi festival in the Temple on 05.09.2015 and therefore, this petitioner should be given police protection for conduct of the festival.

5. However, since it is HR & CE Temple, this Court directs that respondent police to put up sufficient police pickets in and around the Temple, so as to prevent any untoward incident or breach of peace.
