(Order of the Court was made by The Hon'ble Chief Justice) The writ petition filed by an alumni of Dr.Ambedkar Government Law College, Puducherry seeks filling up of vacancies for various posts, including the post of Principal. Interim directions were issued on 30.04.2010 to the second respondent to take steps for https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

appointment of a senior member of the faculty, as also for filling up the post of Principal.

2. It is common ground that with the passage of time, the situation has worsened, though at that time, the Principal was appointed, who has since retired. Out of total number of 17 posts, 12 are vacant. What kind of College would be functioning? This is also reflective of the general position of Law Colleges facing inadequacy of teaching faculty.

3. We call upon the respondents to take all steps to fill up all the vacancies as expeditiously as possible and not later than four months from today, so that atleast when the new session begins, the full strength is available.

4. The writ petition, accordingly, stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, M.P.No.1 of 2010 is closed.

5. The progress/compliance report be filed at least three days before the next date of hearing.

6. List on 24.07.2015.
