Writ Petition(Crl.) filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India praying to issue a WRIT OF Certiorarified MANDAMUS calling for the records relating to the Impugned Reply/Order dated 19.02.2026 issued by the 3rd Respondent (The Inspector of Police, T10-Manimangalam Police Station) and quash the same as illegal and unsustainable, and consequently direct the Respondents to remove the name of the Petitioner from the History Sheet maintained on the file of the T10-Manimangalam Police Station within a time frame as may be stipulated by this Court.
For Petitioner : Mr.D.Adhiyaman For Respondents : Mr.R.Ganesh Kumar, Counsel for Government of Tamil Nadu (Criminal Side)
ORDER
This writ petition has been filed challenging the Reply/Order dated 19.02.2026 issued by the 3rd Respondent (The Inspector of Police, T10Manimangalam Police Station), thereby rejecting the request of the petitioner to remove his name from the history sheet. 2.
On perusal of records and on the submissions of the learned Counsel for Government of Tamil Nadu (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondents, it is revealed that so far the petitioner has involved in criminal cases, in which the offences include Section 307 of IPC and also Section 302 of IPC. That apart, the petitioner is now facing trial in two cases. In one case, he was acquitted from all the charges. 3.
The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the cases were registered during general election.
4.
However, on perusal of the case records, it is revealed that the petitioner committed serious offence i.e. under Section 302 of IPC.
Therefore, there is absolutely no circumstances to remove the petitioner's name from the history sheet. Hence, the request of the petitioner was rightly rejected and this Court finds no infirmity or illegality in the impugned order.
5.
In view of the above discussion, this writ petition is dismissed. However, after completion of trial in the aforementioned cases, the petitioner is at liberty to make a fresh representation to remove his name from the history sheet. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed. There shall be no order as to costs. 23.06.2026 Index : Yes/No : Yes/No Speaking/non-speaking order lok
