O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the 2nd respondent to provide adequate Police protection to the petitioner and his family members to safeguard their life and liberty based on the complaint/representation dated 24.05.2021.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned counsel for Government of Tamilnadu (Criminal Side) appearing on behalf of the respondent police. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

3. In view of the family dispute between the petitioner and the third respondent, relief is sought on the ground that there is a serious life threat by the third respondent to the petitioner.

4. This Court is of the view that blanket direction cannot be issued since F.I.R has been already registered for the various offences punishable under Sections 307, 294(b) and 506 (ii) of IPC. Such being the position, if any cognizable offences committed by the accused, the petitioner can approach the concerned Police to lodge the F.I.R. Therefore, this Court is not inclined to grant any relief in this petition. If any cognizable offences are made out, it is for the respondent Police to take appropriate action.

5. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed.
