ORDER
This writ petition has been filed for issue of writ of mandamus directing the 1st respondent to renew the passport of the petitioner pursuant to the representation made by the petitioner on 27.02.2024. 2.The learned Government Advocate appearing on behalf of the 2nd respondent submitted that an FIR is pending in Crime No.327 of 2016 and the investigation is yet to be completed.
3.In the considered view of this Court, the mere pendency of the FIR cannot be a ground to deny the renewal of passport in favour of the petitioner. However, the petitioner has to submit a proper application for renewal. If the same is done, the 1st respondent shall renew/reissue the passport, if the
3/5 petitioner has satisfied all the other requirements. This process shall be completed, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
