Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for the issuance of a Writ of Certiorari, calling for the records relating to the order dated 20.04.2016 made in proceedings Ka.No.E.Ne.Po/ E & Pa/nakaram2/Tiru/Ko.Po.Ma/No.561/2016 relating to transfer of name in the EB records, on the file of the first respondent and quash the same.

For Respondent-2 : No Appearance

O R D E R

The relief sought for in the present writ petition is to transfer the name of the petitioner in the Electricity Board records.

2. The learned Standing Counsel for the first respondent-TANGEDCO brought to the notice of this Court that the civil disputes between the parties are pending. Unless the rights of the parties have been crystallised and required documents are submitted, the TNGEDCO Authorities will not be in a position to consider the application submitted by the petitioner for effecting the name transfer.

Thus, the petitioner is at liberty to submit all the relevant records in respect of the subject premises and in the event of any civil disputes, the application of the petitioner is to be considered, after reaching finality in the civil dispute between the parties. Thus, it is for the petitioner to initiate all appropriate steps to reach finality in the civil dispute, enabling the TANGEDCO Authorities to consider the application.

4. With the abovesaid observations, the writ petition stands disposed of. However, there shall be no order as to costs.
