ORDER

The petitioner seeks a mandamus to direct the respondent to grant permission to conduct cultural programme to be held on 16.05.2018 in Sri Mariyamman Temple situated at Sigaranapalli Village, Thekupattu Post, Natrampalli Taluk, Vellore District, by considering his representation dated 30.04.2018.

2.Heard the submissions of the learned counsel for the petitioner as well as Mr.J.Ramesh, learned Additional Government Pleader, who accepts notice on behalf of the respondent.

3.This petition has been filed seeking permission to conduct cultural programme in public place. Such permissions are usually granted, subject to the peace and tranquility in the locality/village where such programme is supposed to be conducted. Also, the antecedents and locus of the person who seeks permission matters. These facts can be gone into only https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

by the local Police.

4.Hence this Court is not inclined to entertain this writ petition. It is open to the petitioner to approach the respondent police and if it is conducive, the authority concerned/respondent police shall grant permission to conduct such cultural programme subject to reasonable restriction. 5.The writ petition stands disposed of with the above observation. No costs.
