Respondents Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for the issue of a Writ of Mandamus, to call for records of the second respondent in his proceedings in Na.Ka.8121/A1/2001 dated 2.8.2001 and to direct the respondents to include the name of the petitioner in the appropriate place and consequently give promotion to the petitioner as Record Clerk with effect from the date of promotion of his Junior with all consequential benefits. ORDER

The petitioner went before the Tamil Nadu Administrative Tribunal in O.A.No.8148 of 2001 seeking a direction to the respondents to include his name in the panel of the year 2001 fit for promotion to the post of Record Clerk. After the abolition of the Tribunal, the matter was transferred and renumbered as the present writ petition.

2. When the matter was taken up, Mr.R.Govindasamy, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents, placing on record the death certificate of Mr.S.Chinnappaian, submitted that nothing survives in the writ petition.
