Petitions filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for the issuance of writ of mandamus, directing the respondents to give age relaxation as per the Government Order of age relaxation to the petitioners in the selection process of Conductor conducted on 11.12.2014.

Since the petitioners were over

aged, their candidature were not considered. According to the petitioners, they are entitled to the benefit of the Government Order in G.O.(Ms)No.98 Personnel and Administrative Reforms (P) Department, dated 17.07.2006, which provides for age relaxation upto a period of five years. The petitioners, therefore wanted the respondents to consider their case for appointment in the light of the Government Order by giving necessary relaxation.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of respondents 1 and 4 and the learned Standing Counsel for respondents 2 and 3.

3. The petitioners are given liberty to submit a representation to the second respondent along with a copy of Government Order in G.O.(Ms)No.98 Personnel and Administrative Reforms (P) Department, dated 17.07.2006. In case any such representation is given, the same shall be considered and disposed of by the second respondent on merits and as per law, more particularly, in the light of the Government Order in G.O.(Ms)No.98 dated 17.07.2006. Such exercise shall be completed within one week from the date of receipt of representation.
