Mr.Arun Dhanapalan, learned counsel takes notice on behalf of the respondents. By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2.The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to retain the petitioner in services as attender in E & M Department under the respondent Port Trust till the age of 60 years and not to retire the petitioner on attaining 58 years.

3.Though the writ petition has been filed seeking a larger relief, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner now submitted that the petitioner has made representation dated 07.03.2025 to the first respondent through the transport and dock workers union seeking to extend all the benefits drawn as the regular employee of the Port Trust. This Court may, without going into the merits of the case, issue direction to the first respondent to consider the representation dated 07.03.2025 submitted by the transport and dock workers union and to 2/4

pass appropriate orders, within a reasonable time frame. 4.Considering the limited request now made by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, directs the first respondent to consider the representation dated 07.03.2025 submitted by the transport and dock workers union, on merits and in accordance with law and to pass appropriate orders, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.The writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
