[RESPONDENTS] Writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for a writ of mandamus to direct the respondents to forthwith give preference to the petitioners in the Selection and Appointment to the Post of Laboratory Assistants May 2015 or in the alternative to absorb the petitioners in any other Government Service by taking into consideration of the twenty years of service rendered
by the petitioners in the Non-formal Educational Schemes of the respondents by considering and passing orders on the representations of the petitioner dated 3.6.2015 and 13.6.2015. For Petitioner : Mr.K.Selvaraj For Respondents : Mr.V.Jayaprakash Narayanan Spl. Govt. Pleader

With the consent of the learned counsel appearing on either side, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
2.According to the petitioners, they are all working in various schemes in Non-Formal Education for the past about twenty years. They made representations dated 03.06.2015 and 13.06.2015, to give preference to them for appointment to the post of Laboratory Assistant, pursuant to the present selection process. 3.A Notification was issued by the fourth respondent dated 23.04.2015, to fill up vacancies for the post of Laboratory Assistant. Since, already the selection process has commenced, the learned counsel for the petitioners is fair enough to submit that the petitioners would be satisfied if a direction is given to the respondents to consider the representation to give preference to the petitioners for appointment in the future recruitments in the post of Laboratory Assistant or to any other post.
4.In view of the submissions made by the learned counsel for the petitioners that the petitioners are not claiming any priority in the present selection process i.e. April 2015, a direction is issued to the first respondent to consider the representations submitted by the petitioners dated 03.06.2015 and 13.06.2015, for giving preference to them for appointment to the lower cadre posts, such as Laboratory Assistant, Office Assistant, etc., in future by taking into account the fact that they are serving in various Non-Formal Education Schemes, for about twenty years and pass appropriate orders, within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
