JUDGMENT

This criminal appeal has been preferred against the order dated 24.03.2025 passed in Crl.MP.No.514 of 2025, on the file of the Principal District and Sessions Judge, Kancheepuram, thereby dismissing the petition filed for seeking bail to the appellant. 2.

The case of the prosecution is that the defacto complainant and the appellant had love affair and they had sexual intercourse, thereby the defacto complainant became pregnant. Thereafter, the appellant refused to marry the victim. Further, the appellant's parents scolded her in filthy languages and they also threatened her. Hence, the complaint. 3.

Heard, the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused all the materials placed before this Court. 4.

On perusal of records, it is revealed that the appellant and the defacto complainant fell in love. Knowing very well that the victim girl

belongs to SC community, on the pretext of marriage, the appellant had sexual intercourse with the victim, thereby he committed rape on her. However, later the appellant refused to marry the victim girl. Further, the defacto complainant has now given birth to a child. Therefore, considering the very serious and heinous offence committed by the appellant, this Court is not inclined to entertain this petition. 5.

In view of the above discussion, this criminal appeal is dismissed. However, the trial court is directed to complete the trial within a period of six months from the date of receipt of copy of this order. 12.06.2025 Index : Yes/No : Yes/No Speaking/non-speaking order lok G.K.ILANTHIRAIYAN, J.
