This revision is preferred against the order of learned 1st Additional Family Court, Chennai, passed in M.C.No.48 of 2011 on 18.06.2013.
2. Heard learned counsel for petitioner and learned counsel for respondents.
3.Respondents herein have filed a petition in M.C.No.48 of 2011 before the Court below seeking maintenance. The Court below while allowing the said petition, directed the petitioner herein to pay sums of Rs.8000/- and Rs.6000/- per month respectively towards maintenance to respondents/wife and daughter. The Court below, taking note of the fact that the petitioner is earning a sum of Rs.15,000/- per month as rental income from two of his houses and also the fact that the petitioner is an M.E.Graduate and is bound to provide a decent amount of maintenance to his wife and his minor daughter, ordered a nominal amount as maintenance. 4. In the result, the Criminal Revision stands dismissed. However, taking into consideration the submission of the learned counsel for the petitioner that as the petitioner resigned the job, he would find it difficult to comply with the order under challenge, the petitioner is permitted a period of 6 months from today to effect payment of arrears. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
