O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed praying to direct the respondent Police to investigate the case in Crime No.342 of 2015 and file a final report.

2. Heard Mr.V.Gopinath, learned Senior Counsel appearing on behalf of Mr.S.Suresh, counsel for the petitioner and Mr.C.Emalias, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the respondent.

3. It is seen that the limitation period for the offences alleged in the FIR is three months and the three month period expires on 27.09.2015. Under such circumstances, the respondent Police is directed to file a final report on or before 27.09.2015, before the concerned Court.

4. It is represented by the learned Senior Counsel that, in Coimbatore District, when cases of this nature are registered, the Police officers do not file final report within three months allowing the offenders to get back the seized cattle.

5. Under such circumstances, the Commissioner of Police, Coimbatore city and the Superintendent of Police, Coimbatore rural are directed to look into this grievance and give suitable instructions to the Investigating Officers to file final report before the period of limitation, so that the accused do not go scot-free.

6. The Registry is directed to mark a copy of this order to the Commissioner of Police, Coimbatore city and the Superintendent of Police, Coimbatore rural.

7. With the above directions, this Criminal Original Petition is closed.
