..2nd Respondent in WP.NOS.17557 TO 17561/16 Common Prayer: These Writ Petitions are filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for a Writ of mandamus to direct the second respondent herein to receive the application of the petitioner dated 15.02.2016 in Form CCPA and the prescribed fee for the grant of a Auto Rickshaw Permit and to consider the same.

Advocate C O M M O N O R D E R Heard Mr.S.Govindraman, learned Counsel appearing for the petitioners and Mr.A.Zakir Hussain, learned Government Advocate, accepting notice on behalf of the respondents and with the consent of learned counsel appearing on either side, this writ petitions are taken up for final disposal. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

2.The petitioners have filed these Writ Petitions praying for issuance of writ of mandamus to direct the second respondent to receive their Applications for grant of Auto Rickshaw permits and to consider the same and pass appropriate orders.

3.The learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that there is a need for more Auto Rickshaws on account of the fact that several existing permit holders have stopped their operations and surrendered their Permits.

4.In any event, as the petitioners Applications have not been received by the second respondent, without going into the merits of the case as projected by the petitioners, there will be a direction to the second respondent to receive the petitioners Applications, consider the same and pass order on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date on which the Applications are presented, along with the copy of this order.

The Writ Petitions are disposed of on the above terms. No costs.
