Prayer : This Application has been filed under Order XIV Rule 8 of the Original Side Rules read with Section 151 CPC to extend the time to furnish the security to enable the applicants to move and obtain appropriate orders in the appeal filed under Section 13 of the Commercial Courts Act against the order dated 19.04.2021 passed in App.No.651 of 2020 in CS(Comm.)No.62 of 2020 by the applicants today, 02.06.2021.

O R D E R

The applicants which are the Government owned oil Company seeks extension of time for furnishing security for a sum of Rs.60 Crores pursuant to the order of this Court dated 19.04.2021.

2. Heard Mr.Krishna Srinivasan, learned counsel appearing for the oil Company and Mr.R.Balachandran, learned counsel appearing for the respondent.

3. The reason given by the applicants seeking extension of time is that in view of the pandemic and closure of office for substantial number of days, they could not furnish security for a sum of Rs.60 Crores as per the direction of this Court made in its order dated 19.04.2021.

4. The reason as such priam facie is acceptable. Hence, the time granted by this Court is extended until 12th July 2021 for furnishing security to the tune of Rs.60 Crores. This extension is without prejudice to the rights of the applicants to move an appeal against the order dated 19.04.2021.
