O R D E R

The petitioner joined service as Revenue Assistant. Later, he was promoted as Deputy Tahsildar. On 22.07.2013, he was temporarily promoted as Tahsildar.

2. While so, a charge memo dated 28.03.2014 under Rule 17(b) of Tamil Nadu Civil Services (D & A) Rules was issued for certain allegations. The petitioner submitted his explanation denying the charges. However, no final order is passed. In the meantime, the impugned order is passed reverting the petitioner from the post of Tahsildar to Deputy Tahsildar. Hence, the present writ petition.

3. Admittedly, the petitioner is holding the post of Tahsildar for the past two years. In such circumstances, this Court is of the view that the respondent may be directed to conclude the disciplinary proceedings within a stipulated period.

4. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of by directing the respondent to complete the disciplinary proceedings initiated https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

against the petitioner relating to charge memo dated 28.03.2014 and pass final orders within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and till such time, the petitioner shall not be disturbed in the post of Tahsildar.
